Permanent representatives to TEGOVA

Brief History & Role

VBO Makelaar was founded in 1985 and is currently situated in Nootdorp in the Netherlands. In 2019, the name was changed to VBO. VBO is the Dutch association for real estate agents and valuers.

Principal Activities

With approximately 1.300 registered members, VBO is the second largest real estate association in the Netherlands. VBO has a Residential Real Estate section and a Commercial Real Estate section, which includes members specialized not only in commercial real estate but also agricultural real estate.

Principal Areas of Policy

VBO renders a great number of services to its members, such as legal and business advice. VBO represents the interests of its members with relevant stakeholders as well in Dutch and European parliament. Where as an individual entrepreneur you often have little or no influence on political issues, VBO defends its members' interests. VBO does this by, for example, advocating for legislation and regulations that are in line with the daily work and practice as a real estate agent or valuer.

Organisation

VBO is a Dutch association for real estate agents and valuers. It is a member of the CEI (Confédération Européenne de l'immobilier) and TEGoVA.

Membership

The members of VBO stand for quality and reliability; their service is guaranteed by a code of ethics and subject to the disciplinary rules administered by an independent disciplinary tribunal, the 'TCMNL' (Tuchtcollege Makelaardij Nederland).

VBO obliges its members to upgrade their professional knowledge on a yearly basis. Every five years each member is subject to recertification to make sure their legal and marketing knowledge is contemporary.

Publications
