Brief History and Role
TTN is the appraisal governing body of the Ministry of Public Works of Argentina. Established under law 21616 of 2001, TTN is the standards and methodology setter for the national valuation standards.
The Agency sets the market value for all assets and goods required by any government agency, judiciary branch or the private sector.
Principal Activities
As a technical body in the field of appraisals, TTN's principal activities are:
- Setting the market value for expropriations
- Setting the market value of all assets and goods for the Federal Government and its agencies
- Setting the value required by the judiciary branch
- Setting the market value for the assets of insurance companies or the private sector
- Any appraisal required
Principal Areas of Policy
The principal areas of policy are:
- Setting national standards and methodology
- Performing Valuations
- Performing mediations and arbitrations
- Managing the National Registry of Appraisers
- Managing the National Appraisal System (SITAN)
- Improving the efficiency of the management and the internal controls of the public resources of the agency
Training and education
Organisation
TTN is the national decentralised governing body in the orbit of the Ministry of Public Works regarding appraisal questions.
The internal management bodies are:
- The President of the Board
- The Board (3 members)
Appraisers Staff
The staff is composed of 45 professional appraisers in the fields of engineering, architecture and agronomy.
