Brief History and Role
The Russian Board of Appraisers (RBA) is one of the largest professional organisations of valuation companies in the Russian Federation. It was founded in 25 November 1996 and nowadays the RBA represents the valuation companies from 80 (of 83) regions of Russia. There are 22 branch offices providing services and information.
The RBA initiates legislative amendments concerning valuation and represents the appraisal society in government authority committees and commissions.
Principal Activities
Expertise. RBA Expert Council is the best recognised body in valuation reports expertise. The Expert Council, for example, examines the property valuation results of national gas and electric transportation companies.
Members' support. RBA provides legal, information and educational support to its members. Members have a discount in professional indemnity insurance and the access to up-to-date information about valuation contests.
Public Affairs. RBA represents the appraiser's interests in drafting government resolutions, federal laws and administrative documents concerning valuation activity.
Services to authorities. RBA provides feasibility studies for federal programs, economic forecasting, drafting concepts of effective property management for local authorities, drafting programs of social and economic development of municipalities.
