Brief History and Role

The Lithuanian Chamber of Appraisers is an institution uniting property and business valuation professionals who carry out their activities in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Lithuania and International and European valuation standards. The Lithuanian Chamber of Appraisers was established in 2014.

The main objective of the Chamber is to bring together professionals in the field of valuation, to promote sustainable cooperation between them and to ensure continuous dissemination of information and skills development.

Principal Activities

In pursuing its objects and goals, the Chamber shall have the right to engage in the aareas of policy to the extent permitted by law.

Business that is subject to obtaining a licence or a permit shall only be conducted after the relevant licence or permit has been obtained.

Principal Areas of Policy

  • Coordinate the activities of the Chamber’s members, represent and defend the members’ interests.
  • Represent and defend the common interests of its members before courts of all instances and the public, in relations with third parties, other organisations, companies, establishments, and institutions.
  • Provide all kinds of information, legal, methodological, and organisational assistance to its members.

Pool resources for the implementation of common social and economic programmes.

Organisation

The Lithuanian Chamber of Appraisers (the ‘Chamber’), legally incorporated as an association, is a limited liability public entity that has property and business appraisers and property and business appraisal companies as its members, their membership based on the principle of voluntarism.

The Chamber shall have economic, physical–organisational, and legal autonomy and shall be independent from governmental bodies and departments and political parties or organisations. The Chamber shall have its seal with its name on it, and at least one account with a credit institution. The Chamber may have its blazon and logo.

The Chamber shall be liable for its obligations to the extent of the assets owned by it. The Chamber shall not be liable for the obligations of its members, and the members shall not be liable for the obligations of the Chamber.

The Chamber shall have an unlimited duration of operation.

The Chamber’s year of fiscal operation shall coincide with one calendar year.

Membership

The Chamber may accept as its members legal entities and legally capable individuals 18 years of age and older, subject to filing an application to join the Chamber and assuming the commitment to follow the provisions of the Articles of Association, as well as payment of the fixed entrance fee in the manner prescribed by the General Meeting of Members.

New members shall be accepted to the Chamber by Board resolution. A refusal to accept members to the Chamber may be appealed to the General Meeting of Members, which will have the deciding power.

All members of the Chamber shall have equal rights.
