Brief History and Role

KAVEX vzw (Chamber of Real Estate Experts) was founded as an autonomous professional association on 21 June 2002 and its articles of association were published in the Appendix to the Belgian Official Journal on 17 September 2002.

Since December 2008, KAVEX vzw has been officially recognised as a National Professional Association by the Belgian Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises and Self-Employed.

KAVEX is also represented in that capacity in the High Council for the Self-Employed and SMEs.

KAVEX vzw is also a member of FEBEX vzw, the Federation of Belgian Expert Associations (www.febex.be).

KAVEX defends and promotes the interests of experts and promotes them.

Principal Objects

As an association of real estate experts KAVEX has the following roles and objectives:

Organisation

KAVEX is structured around a board of directors with several functions, including:

 

Secretary: The secretary is responsible for the administrative work of KAVEX, such as managing correspondence, keeping records and organizing meetings.

Accounting: Accounting is responsible for maintaining financial records and preparing KAVEX's financial reports.

Membership Administration: Membership Administration is responsible for managing the membership list, including enrolling new members, updating contact information, and facilitating communication between members.

Organization of events: This function focuses on planning and organizing various events held by KAVEX, such as lunches, themed evenings, conferences or seminars. This includes selecting locations, arranging speakers and coordinating logistics.

Accreditation Committee: The Accreditation Committee reviews the qualifications and experience of members who wish to be considered for accreditation as a recognized expert in the real estate sector. This committee may establish guidelines and criteria to determine who is eligible for accreditation.

Disciplinary Commission: the Disciplinary Commission works on the basis of complaints and ensures that the real estate expert fulfils her or his task properly. For example, experts who do not perform their work properly can be suspended or relieved of their affiliation and/or accreditation.

The Board of Appeal: The Board of Appeal can act on appeals from one of the parties. It rules independently.

Membership
