Brief History and Role
The Dubai Land Department (DLD) was established in 1960 for the purpose of registering land and property sales and ownership. Since that date, the DLD has been involved in valuation activities both to the public sector and the private sector. DLD acts as regulator for the property industry in Dubai.
Principal Activities
Taqyeem activities:
• Adopting internationally-accepted valuation standards and measuring standards
• Registering valuation companies and individuals
• Setting up educational courses and degrees in valuation
• International cooperation with leading bodies in valuation
• Enhancing transparency in the market.
Principal Areas of Policy
• To promote the image of Dubai and the UAE
• To enhance business activities in the city
• To become a centre of excellence regionally for valuation
Organisation
The Dubai Land Department is a Governmental body.
Membership
Membership will only be granted after the full academic history, work experience, and educational history are verified and accepted.
