Brief History and Role
Founded in 1949, BDVI is a voluntary association of Publicly Appointed Surveyors in Germany which represents its members' consolidated interests effectively.
The association currently has approx. 1250 members. This means that 90% of all Publicly Appointed Surveyors are members of our professional association.
Spheres of Activity
Lobbying
The representation of the professional group's interests is implemented by lobbying in the Parliaments of the federal states and the German Bundestag as well as in the European Commission and the European Parliament in Brussels. Relevant Agendas and announcements by the federal states´ Parliaments and the German Bundestag are continuously evaluated by the BDVI.
Members Services
BDVI members have access to up-to-date and important specialist information and events. They also have access to the magazine FORUM, to notifications from the association's lawyers as well as extensive download material from the BDVI internal site.
Education
The association's educational institute offers an attractive choice of specialist and management seminars, as well as seminars for those starting their careers.
Events and Networking
Three important events in the BDVI's calendar are their own annual congress and the participation of the association in the two essential trade fairs "Intergeo" and EXPO REAL in Munich.
Organisation
The association's most important body is the committee. The committee is chaired by the president, three vice-presidents and the Secretary of the association's publications. This body represents the association externally and implements the decisions made by the executive board and the general assembly. The committee of the BDVI sets up committees of experts for the discussion of the most important issues and substantiates the representation of interests.
As the federal states (Bundesländer) are responsible for surveying in Germany the BDVI is divided into several regional factions. At present there are 15 regional factions, which are involved in committed association politics on the spot. Bavaria has not yet introduced the public appointment of freelance professionals.
The executive board consists of the chairmen of the 15 regional factions and the members of the committee.
