Brief History and Role

Created in 1979 by a team of 18 property valuers, the French Institute or Real Estate Valuation (IFEI) has, twenty five years later, more than 200 members.

On January 1998, IFEI initiated the general concepts of valuation around the Charter of Valuation, to which fourteen associations have agreed.

IFEI is a reference institution of property valuation, known for its involvement in the development of the profession.

Principal Activities

Lobbying. IFEI is very concerned with the need for reflexion and harmonisation, exchanges of knowledge and representation of valuers.

IFEI works with other associations of valuers with Government and Financial authorities.

Education. IFEI plays a leading role in the continuous education of its members, and organise each month in Paris, and with a lowest frequency in some major French cities, conferences and meetings.

Real Estate is included in many degrees which are taught at the University or Business Schools, where some members of IFEI are also teachers.

Principal Areas of Policy

The influence of IFEI has been developed through a national structure covering the whole country.

Regional representations are established in Lyon, Marseilles/Nice and recently Toulouse/Bordeaux.

The managing committee, under the authority of the Superior Board drives the Institute (meetings, various manifestations and publications).
